What’s the difference between Light Contact and Kick Light Kombat?

Light Contact Kombat is above-the-waist kickboxing, emphasizing continuous striking with control and clean technique.
Kick Light Kombat includes controlled low kicks, creating a more dynamic and full-range kickboxing experience while maintaining safety standards.

Who can compete in USA Sport Kombat events?

Fighters of all ages and experience levels are welcome. Divisions are separated by age, weight, and skill level, ensuring fair and safe matchups for everyone—from first-time competitors to experienced athletes.

How do I become an affiliate or host an event?

Schools and coaches can apply to become official USA Sport Kombat affiliates. Affiliates gain access to sanctioned events, league resources, and the opportunity to host official tournaments under standardized rules.

What equipment is required to compete?

For Light Contact and Kick Light Kombat divisions, fighters must bring:

Shin guards (either boots & shins or instep-style)

Mouthpiece

Hand wraps

Groin protection

Gloves and headgear are provided by the league.

For Point Kombat divisions, all gear must be provided by the competitor, including:

Point fighting gloves

Elbow pads

Foot pads

Shin guards

Headgear

Mouthpiece

Groin protection
